Asphalt services in Charlottesville.
Our home city and the middle of everything we do. An independent city, so it is its own jurisdiction rather than part of Albemarle — and a mix of tight in-town driveways, university-adjacent rentals and commercial lots that see heavy daily turnover.

Our base of operations
1536 Avon Street Ext is where the business works out of, and Charlottesville is the middle of everything we do. It is an independent city rather than part of a county, which means its streets, its lots and its driveways are the city’s own jurisdiction — and a good deal of the pavement here is older, tighter and closer to its neighbours than anything out in the counties.
In-town work has its own constraints. Access is narrower, the edges matter more because everything is visible from the pavement, and there is usually a kerb, an apron or a walk to tie into cleanly. It is also the fastest place for us to get to.
Why Charlottesville calls us back.
The three reviews our customers have published, quoted as written. We have not turned them into a star rating we cannot back up.
“We hired Virginia Asphalt Services Inc. to pave our driveway, and the quality of work was top-notch! The team was friendly, punctual, and worked with great attention to detail. Our new driveway looks fantastic and is built to last!”
“From start to finish, Paul and his team were exceptional. They resurfaced our road on schedule and at a fair price. Their expertise and dedication to quality are unmatched. I will definitely use their services again!”
Asphalt questions in Charlottesville.
What types of asphalt services do you offer?
A full range of asphalt services: paving, resurfacing, sealcoating, crack sealing, pothole patching and asphalt repairs — for residential, commercial and municipal projects alike.
How long does it take for new asphalt to cure?
Asphalt dries within 24 to 48 hours, but it takes about 6 to 12 months to fully cure. During that time, avoid heavy loads and sharp turns to maintain the best surface quality.
How often should I sealcoat my driveway or parking lot?
We recommend sealcoating every 2 to 3 years to protect your asphalt from UV rays, water damage and cracks, helping extend its lifespan and maintain a fresh appearance.
What causes potholes, and how can I prevent them?
Potholes form due to water infiltration, freeze-thaw cycles and heavy traffic. Regular maintenance, such as crack sealing and sealcoating, can prevent potholes and prolong the life of your asphalt.
How do I know if my asphalt needs resurfacing or full replacement?
If your asphalt has widespread cracking, potholes or structural issues, resurfacing — adding a new asphalt layer — may be a cost-effective solution. However, if the foundation is severely damaged, a full replacement might be necessary. We offer free assessments to determine the best option for you.
